I have just had a rather interesting discovery.
I was thanking God for the sunshine this morning as I drove to work (and secretly hoping that it will stay like this throughout the entire summer) and then I realised that if it did - we would have such a shortage of water and the summer could be a really difficult time - instead of being joyful. So I prayed that at the right time God would bring the rain and would help me to be joyful because if it. (I sometimes find rain quite depressing).
I was reflecting and realised earlier that life is a little bit like this...
We need the balance of the easy times and the hard... the rain in our lives can be really tough, but equally it provides us with a resevoir to draw upon in the easy times. I guess thats kinda what makes the easy time easy! It creates character in us, in order to be able to comfort others in their time of rain or whatever is tough for them. The cold is good too (this is a struggle for me to concede!) but the cold kills off lots of nasty bugs - thus making the warmer months much safer for us.
It is enlightening to realise that I need to learn to love the tough stuff! I am not in that place...
But I would like to be.
